Imphal, October 21 2009:
The Senapati District Students' Association has taken a serious view of the applications from non-tribals in the recently held DPC to recruit teachers to the Autonomous District Councils.
Drawing the attention of the Tribal Development Minister and other authorities concerned, the student body in a statement said that special emphasis should be given to 'local dialects' and 'merit' in the recruitment process.
Urging the authority concerned to look into the matter immediately, the student body said that in case, their pleas are not heeded, it will not remain silent spectators but launch a series of democratic agitations.
