Imphal, October 21 2009:
The two JACs formed against the killing of Sanjit and Rabina in July 23 Khwairamband Bazar incident have categorically stated that they are ready to hold talks towards bringing about an amicable solution to end the present impasse provided Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh is replaced by anybody from other non-Congress parties.
In a joint statement, the two JACs said that the realisation of the Government that it could not fight back any longer and feelers send by those Ministers and MLAs who are close to the Chief Minister for holding talks are appreciable.
However, the JACs would be ready to hold talks only when there is a change in the administration.
In this regard, all the political parties in Manipur should understand that the JACs have no reservation against the caste, creed or religion of the candidates from any non-Congress parties who should be replacing Ibobi, the joint statement said.
If the report of the Central Government mulling over possibility of putting the present Government of Manipur under animated suspension or imposing President's Rule temporarily is true, then the public should bear with the inconveniences little longer as the curtain is likely to be drawn over the Ibobi-Ministry, the two JACs appealed.
The two JACs also strongly denounced Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh for clinching on to his seat inspite of his tall promises in every public function of relinquishing the post if the public do not like him.
The joint statement further appealed to the people to come and take part in the commemorative function of completing 3 months of the Khwairamband Bazar incident which would be observed at the Khurai Tinsid Road resident of slain Sanjit on October 23 .
At the occasion, floral tributes would be paid to Rabina and Sanjit, the joint statement informed and appealed to all concerned to restrain from organising any sort of entertainment programmes on the said day.
