Vungching (68) of New Lamka is said to have left home on Sunday evening.
Her family alerted the local philanthropic organisations as she did not return at dusk and began looking for her that night itself with several teams seeking information about her through PA system.
The following day, taking clue of hints provided by several people, various philanthropic organisations began a mass search at several outskirts in the and the adjoining rivers and forest.
Even as trained dogs from BSF joined the mass search it still turned futile, four days after the search and five days after she went missing.
Sources said she is hesitant of speaking to others and at times develops anxiety towards darkness.
At the time of filing this report, hoards of volunteers were heading towards Lingsiphai village as some people claimed to have seen a lone woman resembling the missing person last night.
