Imphal, October 08 2014:
AITC's National spokesperson Derek O'Brien, who is also the Chief Whip of the party in the Rajya Sabha will come to Imphal on October 12 to address an election meeting for the AITC candidate in the Hiyanglam AC by-poll.
Besides addressing a public meeting of the AITC at Langmeidong Public Ground at 2 pm on October 12, Derek O'Brien will hold election campaign for the party's candidate Dr Yumnam Radheshyam, according to MPTC Spokesperson P Premananda.
Confident that the AITC candidate would easily emerge as the winner in the upcoming Hiyanglam AC by-election, Premananda said that it would not be a problem for the AITC to face the candidate of INC, a ruling party of the State, and the candidate of the BJP, a ruling party at the Centre.
Unlike other States of the country, the Modi wave will fail to sweep the State, Premananda asserted while adding that the dissension within the State BJP unit has been gathering steam.
The fallouts of indignation expressed in the political circle after the name of Th Chaoba surface in the alleged scam is certain in the ensuing by-poll, Premananda said.
He also said that the then sitting Congress MLA Elangbam Dwijamani was defeated by the Trinamool Congress candidate even at that time when both the Centre and State were under the Congress rule.
Now that E Dwijamani is no more an MLA and the Congress Govt at the Centre has gone, tt would not be a trouble to give a crushing defeat to the INC candidate at a time when the people of the State are already impatient to give a fitting lesson to the party for their corrupt deeds, P Premananda said while expressing strong confidence that the AITC candidate would come out victorious in the by-election.
