Imphal, August 24:
Movement for Tribal people's Rights, Manipur (MTPRM) has complained against appointment of 137 teachers in Autonomous District Council without conducting any DPC.
In a memorandum submitted to Pungzathang Tonsing, who has been newly allotted with the portfolio of Tribal Development, the rights' body reminded that as per the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Government of India and MTPRM on March 10, 2003, it was agreed that 'shortage of teachers in the Primary Schools under the Autonomous District Council will be filed up by locally qualified persons, and the appointment process shall be informed to the MTPRM office'.
But in violation of the agreement, the former TD Minister had appointed non-local qualified teachers in a fishy manner without any notification for public information and conducting DPC, the rights' body alleged.
