A map showcasing boundaries of south east Asian countries in 1832 has been released at a simple function held today at Manipur Press Club.
The 'Mainland South East Asia in 1832' map was jointly released by Manipur University Prof (History) L Kunjeshowri Devi, MEELAL president S Tomba, MEELAL advisor Thawailemba and AMWJU president A Mobi.
Map publisher WABA Publications' managing director W Ananda Meitei said that the map has been brought out to enable the upcoming generation understand the then prevailing boundaries of some south east Asian countries.
The source of the map is said to be from the London Atlas of Universal Geography (1938) and reprinted as antique map poster with the permission of Cartography Associates.
