Imphal, October 20 2010:
A five-day national workshop on 'Preventive Conservation of Manuscripts' was opened today in the auditorium of Manipur State Archives, Keishampat under the aegis of Manuscripts Conservation Centre of the Manipur State Archives.
The workshop is being sponsored by the National Mission for Manuscripts, Department of Culture, Government of India.
The inaugural session of the workshop was attended by Director of the National Mission of Manuscripts, Prof Dipti S Tripathi as chief guest and Padmasree RK Jhaljit as president.
Resource persons speaking at the workshop stressed on the importance of preserving olden manuscripts.
