Civil organizations and individuals extending relief materials to people affected by the recent flood continued today.
Volunteers of Brave Boys' Club led by its president Kongkham Manglem extended 35 bags of rice to around 340 families of Maibam Konjin in Thoubal district affected by flood.
5 kg of rice was distributed per family.
Manglem, speaking at the rice distribution function, said that he and the local club extended the relief as part of extending a helping hand to the suffering people.
"There is the need for extending help to each other at times of suffering." Vice-president of the club Y Dijen said that the rice distributed today was donated by president Manglem.
People of Maibam Konjin and Maibam Konjin Social Progressive Organisation expressed gratitude to social worker K Manglem for extending the relief material and for sharing the sorrows of the people.
Volunteers of the All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) led by its president KT Rahman distributed rice and dal to the flood affected people at various places in Imphal east and west.
They distributed a total of 46 bags of rice.
They started the distribution of relief materials to people taking shelter in the relief camps at Arapti Awang Leikai, Kiyamgei, Bashikhong Kongba Irong in Imphal east.
They provided 11 bags of rice and one bag of dal to the relief camps opened at Arapti and Kiyamgei and two rice bags and a bag of dal to the camp in Bashikhong.
AMUCO volunteers also distributed relief materials to flood affected people in Imphal east at Khongman Okram Chuthek, Kongba Uchekon Chongabi, New Chekon, Hatta Golapati, Kongpal, Porompat, Iroishemba and Lairenkabi areas of Imphal west.
