Imphal, December 12 2009:
Troops of the 29 Assam Rifles have gunned down a UG suspect following a shoot-out at Semang village area, which is about 30 kilometre north east of Tengnoupal police station in Chandel district.
According to a police report, an encounter ensued at around 3.30 pm today after which the AR troops recovered a 9 mm pistol along with a magazine, three live rounds and same number of empty cases from the slain person.
The AR troops have reportedly handed-over body of the yet-to be identified UG suspect to Tengnoupal police station this evening.
The victim appears to be about 30 years of age with both ears pierced, police added.
