The district administration with much efforts has finally been able to settle the various land disputes and issues of land compensation which were the stumbling blocks in the construction of Jiribam-Tupul railway project in Tamenglong district.
According to sources available here, the district administration had hold several rounds of hearing, inspections and discussion and finally achieved a great significant development to restarting the railway works in some villages of Tamenglong district.
The major complicated land disputes in Makhuam Village section stress 89.782 to 97.900 kilometres was settle with both contending parties have been persuaded to enable railway re- survey works to go and the same is continuing without any hindrance, the official source said.
In Rangkhung village the railway stress some 79.766 to 82.342 km also said to be settled with the consent of the village authority and land owners obtained for railway works.
In Khumji (Lukhambi) village section and Awangkhul section also settled with the consent of the village authority and land owners obtained for railway works, the source said.
It is said that though he issue of ownership is yet to be settled in Rangkhung- Khumji section 82.342 to 82.272kms both villages have given their consent and authorisation for railway work and can proceed without any hindrance now to the ongoing construction of railway tracks.
Rangkhung and Khumji village boundary dispute was one such obstacle in construction of railway line, the dispute is 82 years old now, the source added.
It became a stumbling block in construction of Jiribam- Tupul railway line to be pass through the dispute land and issue of land compensation was involved too, the source said.
Though the boundary dispute is yet to be solved, the district administration has achieved a significant breakthrough in restarting the railway works.
To solved all those land dispute and compensation the district administration hold several rounds of hearings, inspection and discussion, the source said.
