Surrenders

A 38-year old man, who is on the run for about seven days after shooting to dead his uncle and causing injury to another on June 30, has surrendered before the Additional SP (Ops) Imphal West, S Ibomcha this evening with a pistol and few live bullets.
Khulem Jiten was on the run from June 30 after shooting two of his uncles when they tried to intervene when he beat up his father, Khulem Kendrajit at Naoremthong Khulem Leikai under Lamphel PS.
One of his uncles, Khulem Krishnamohan succumbed to bullet injuries the next day at Shija hospital.
Angry locals had dismantled the property of Jiten and burned down two vehicles and a generator set.
Locals had also staged a roadblock from Laishram Leirak to Thoudam Leikai along Uripok-Kangchup road.
The accused surrendered to the police today along with a pistol and four live bullets.
