Imphal, July 06 2015 :
With regard to the ultimatum of 5 days served to the Mao Council by the Naga Hoho through the print media for withdrawal of the memorandum submitted by the Mao Council to the Government of Manipur, the Mao Council has stated the Naga Hoho's directive was judgmental and left no room for amicable settlement of the dispute.
The Mao Council had respectfully responded to the Naga Hoho's second directive of June 10 with an elaborate submission but no due consideration has been given to the same during its consultative meeting held on July 1 .
After the response/clarification from the Mao Council, it is difficult to understand the basis of the Naga Hoho's insistence time and again for withdrawal of the memorandum as the memorandum has served its purpose and the matter ended there.
In view of the above, the Mao council is not in a position to comply with the Naga Hoho directive at hand, conveyed a press release issued by its publicity wing.
