HC stays POCSO court order on alleged rapes of girl inmates

Justice Kh Nobin Singh of the High Court of Manipur on Monday issued an order staying the order issued by Court of Special Judge (POCSO), Churachandpur on May 27 on the case of Timothy Changsan, administrator of the North East Children Home (NECH) of Rangkai who was alleged to have sexually assaulted over 14 minor girls in his children home.
He has been reported released on bail since May 27 by the Court of Special Judge (POCSO).
The senior government advocate RS Reisang raised objections to the order and HC directed to stay the order.
The Police had registered a case under section 354/376 (C)/506 IPC & 6/8/10 POCSO Act against the accused.
It may be mentioned here that administrator of a Children Home in Churachandpur district was accused of raping around 14 minor girl inmates for over two years beginning from December 2012 .
The incident came to light after two 15-year-old girl inmates of North Eastern Children Home (NECH) lodged separate written complaints at police station, Churachandpur on February 25 .
In their complaints, the girls said that administrator Timothy L Changsan sexually abused and raped the girl inmates including them since December 2012.They alleged that Timothy threatened them with dire consequences if they disclosed the matter to anyone.
