Imphal, February 23:
Unable to pay a huge monetary demand made by one underground organisation, inter-State bus service from and to Imphal has been suspended from today.
According to information received by press, the UG group asked the inter-State travel agents to pay a huge amount of money within a fixed deadline.
Faced with the precarious situation, the transporters feared that ugly and unwanted incidents may result from their inability to fulfil the monetary demand.
Subsequently, the travel agents have decided to stop inter-State transport service until they come to an understanding with the outfit.
Consequent upon suspension of transport service, a large number of people have to either cancel their trips or reschedule their travel plan.
However, some people hired Maruti vans and Sumos to reach their destinations at much higher fares according to urgency of their works.
