Ukhrul, February 23:
Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), the apex Tangkhul organization has reiterated that unity and reconciliation of all the factions should be principle based as spelled out by the chairman of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) Isaac Chishi Swu.
In a statement issued in the backdrop of some factions advocating an 'exclusive' unity and reconciliation policy within certain context, the apex body of the Tangkhul said that the unity and reconciliation should be inclusive of all the Nagas within and outside Nagaland on prior basis.
The statement signed by its president Ino.
Stephen Angkang further said that on the basis of inclusion of all the Nagas only a meaningful unity and reconciliation of the Nagas could be hammered out.
As long as the proposed unity and reconciliation is based on certain pre-condition which are 'contradictory' to the desired reconciliation and unity of the whole Nagas, then TNL would oppose such principle.
While informing that the executive sitting of the TNL held on February 18 unanimously resolved to support the declaration of the principle on the Naga reconciliation and unity made by Yaruiwo Isaac Chishi Swu on January 13, 2007, Angkang said that the sitting has also steadfastly resolved not to support to any other contradictory move against the principle of the reconciliation and unity of the whole Nagas.
