AR foils smuggling of teak wood

Imphal, June 15 2021:
Troops of Chandel Battalion of IGAR (South) on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle teak wood in Moltuk, Chandel district.
In a release, PRO IGAR stated that based on reliable sources, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation in which a vehicle carrying teak wood was intercepted.
On thorough checking of the vehicle, smuggled timber worth Rs 29.68 lakh on Tuesday was recovered, it added.
The release stated that the apprehended smuggler and vehicle along with timber have been handed over to police and District Forest Office, Tengnoupal for further action.
