1 more succumbs to COVID-19 in Kpi, death toll rises to 32

Kangpokpi, June 15 2021:
The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Kangpokpi district has climbed to 32 with one more person succumbing to the disease while another 9 positive cases were reported today.
The latest victim, a 74 years old man from Motbung Aithuh Veng, Sehtinkhup @ Paseh Sitlhou succumbed to the virus yesterday at around 7:30 pm.
He was later buried at Motbung cemetery following strict COVID protocols.
Meanwhile, as per the official COVID-19 situation report from the District Surveillance Officer, the active case in the district has dipped to only 61, while 8 COVID-19 patients including 6 from home isolation and another 2 from COVID Care Centre, Leikop were cured and discharged today.
Besides, a woman health worker on duty at COVID Care Centre, Leikop from Kangpokpi District Headquarters was reportedly found COVID-19 positive today and was referred for home isolation.
The COVID Task Force Kangpokpi volunteers also detained a few women vegetable sellers without Covid Free Certificate and brought them to the District Hospital Kangpokpi for COVID-19 test.
They were all found to be negative.
Meanwhile, Gamnom Sapermeina PS team in collaboration with Medical team and Covid Task Force Sapermeina, Kangpokpi conducted random Covid testing at Sapermeina Bazar today.
During the random testing, 56 persons, mainly shopkeepers were tested and were all found negative.
