Prity Pangkam, a first year Medical Student of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal died at Imphal Monday evening.
Born on 8 August, 1986, she did her schooling from Rama Krishna Mission, Aalo and had a brilliant academic career.
The mortal remains will be taken to her home at Karko village, Upper Siang District for the last rites on May 5 .
After qualifying the entrance examination two years back, she took admission at RIMS, however due to illness she had to take a break from her studies for two years.
But determined to fulfill her childhood dream and to serve the people, Prety rejoined the institution this year.
However, on the evening of April 29 last she fell critically ill.
She breathed her last on May 3 last at the ICU of her Institution.
Meanwhile, RIMS with Director L Fimate and all senior professors, officials and medical students in a condolence meeting today recalled the short association with Prity.
The RIMS family members prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended its condolence to the bereaved family members.
