A two-day indigenous cultural meet entitled, Khongul Leeba, organised by Meetei National Front (MNF) Jiri branch has commenced at the auditorium of Jiribam Higher Secondary School today.
Titular King of Manipur, Meidingu Leishemba Sanajaoba and MNF Kangleipak President Chingsubam Wangambi Leima graced the opening function as chief guest and functional president respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Meidingu Leishemba Sanajaoba cautioned the people of the State from adopting westernization which is on the rise particularly among the young generation.
He also urged to protect tradition, culture and identity at any cost.
The chief guest called on the gathering to broaden outlook and avoid narrow mindset.
He also urged the major community of Jiribam to respect smaller groups so as to get the same respect from them.
