Senapati ADC to have 64 Adult Education schools

Senapati Autonomous District Council (ADC) has received the approval for setting up 64 new Adult Education schools.
Chairman of Senapati ADC, Henry Hriili said that the new schools will impart education from pre-primary level with more than 128 instructors.
The new education policy is to improve the quality of education from pre-primary level and improve the mentality of the beginners, he said.
Henry stated further that 128 instructors�64 for senior and 64 other instructors for junior students would be recruited under the new policy with an expected salary of Rs 2000/- per month.
The schools would be managed by School Management Development Council (SMDC).
The project will be implemented first in Thoubal, Senapati, Chandel and Tamenglong Districts in its first phase.
The ADC leader also announced that five new school buildings in all the three Assembly constituencies will be provided and that necessary fund for the same has received approval from the Government under the NLCPR Project.
The ADC has actually proposed for 50 new such buildings but the Government has approved only five out of 50 required proposal.
Moreover, funds for constructions of the new ADC building at Senapati DHQ has also been finalized and approved by the Government, he said.
Meanwhile, the ADC Chairman said that the district council will soon begin inspection exercise in order to check the performance of the ADC schools and curb the culture of substitute teacher and proxy teaching system.
Stressing on the need to reform put serious efforts to reform education system in the district, Henry urged the concerned officials to conduct regular inspection in schools and conduct regular meetings of Headmaster/Headmistress.
While instructing the SMDC and Education Officials to utilise funds with all sincerity and effectively under the School grant, Teacher's grant and other funds provided through SSA/RTE Project, the ADC Chairman warned that any form of irregularities will not be tolerated for the welfare of the student's community.
