BCDDC decries against Jiri Tipaimukh road condition

The Barak Circle Development Demand Committee had decried the alleged apathy of the State Government in the development works of Barak Circle, Jiribam which led to the deteriorating condition of Jiri-Tipaimukh road.
Speaking to mediapersons, Vanlalhreit Hmar, General Secretary of BCDDC said, "On June 16, we submitted a memorandum to theChief Secretary of Manipur through the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam which included reasonable demands of Barak Circle.
Again on July 7, the BCDDC members met the ADC and SO, PWD, Jiribam to relate the same issue" .
"The SO, PWD stated that the Department did not have funds for renovating the road.
However, we requested him to assist in clearing the jungles adjacent to Jiri-Tipaimukh road.
Much to our surprise, the SO replied that the department have no funds even to undertake the jungle clearing work," Vanlalhreit Hmar.
Vanlalhriet added that due to incessant rainfall, the Jiri-tipaimukh road in in severe condition with seven landslides incidents which occurred recently.
He maintained that the Committee will take steps against the State Government in case immediate relief is not provided.
