Tailoring machines distributed

Tailoring machines have been distributed to destitute women who have completed six months vocational training in tailoring, cutting and embroidery, in a programme organised by Welfare Training Institute under Social Welfare Department at Welfare Training Institute, Takyelpat, today.
Speaking at the closing function, Social Welfare Minister Ak Mirabai assured that 33 percent seat would be reserved for disabled candidates while giving training opportunities and recruiting employees for the Social Welfare Department.
The step has been taken up to upgrade disabled persons.
In order to uplift women society in Manipur and enable women's contribution in decision making bodies, the Central Government has been putting in all its efforts to reserve 33% seat for women and carrying out schemes to allot extra power to women.
"We are putting in our best efforts in bringing our rights and share from these schemes for Manipur too", said AK Mirabai.
She further said that in her statement that the department has taken up necessary arrangements to sanction five electronic tailoring machines by the beginning of the next training session.
However, trainees must try to make the most out of these training sessions.
The department has been putting in its efforts in enhancing skilled women's economy.
The Minister distributed tailoring machines to 102 women who have completed tailoring and embroidary training.
Other heads of the department, Principal Secretary, SK Verman; Joint Secretary, H Rupchandra and Disable Commissioner, Ibomcha were also present at the programme.
