Imphal, February 27 2020:
The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Manipur State Committee has conveyed that the two days meeting of the National working committee of Trade Union discussed three major issues concerning the State of Manipur.
During the meeting, which was held on February 26 & 27, AITUC Manipur unit general secretary L Sotinkumar deliberated on the prohibition of street vendors from opening their business at suitable time slots, termination of labourers from FCI godown in Sangaiprou and Jiribam and non-release of honorarium for mid day meal workers, said a press release issued by secretary, AITUC Manipur.
He underlined the need to take up necessary measures/actions to solve the matters and to bring up these issues in the Parliament.
Among other prevailing issues of the State, the secretary talked about the three burning issue so that the authorities/representatives concerned can pressure the matters to the National leaders, it added.
Apart from apprising the need to bring up the issues in the Parliament, he has also started meeting left party MP, added the statement.
Saying that the Government could have solved the prevailing issues earlier if it had given necessary attention, AITUCs along with like minded unions/workers organisations need to highlight the issues and fight for them together, it added.
It appealed the Government as well as the authorities concerned to look into the matters and to initiate measures to solve them.
