The Khongjom War Memorial Trust president and former Minister Moirangthem Hemanta announced during the observation of the 21st Khongjom Tarpan day held at Khongjom War Memorial Complex that the trust is planning to erect the world's longest sword at Kheba hill in remembrance of the martyrs of Khongjom War and would be named as Statue of Brave- Thouna fabasingi Ningsing Khudam.
"The trust is planning to erect a 150 feet long sword at Kheba hill to mark the sacrifices of those who were killed during the Khongjom War.
The estimated cost for manufacturing the symbolic sword is Rs 4 crore.

A proposal regarding the plan has been submitted to the State Government and the Government has approved the proposal but the sword would be shorter in length.
This is not acceptable to the trust," Moirangthem Hemanta said.
Thounaojam Chaoba, president, BJP Manipur, lauded the trust for organising an event to remember the martyrs and educate the younger generation on the suffering and sacrifices made by the forefathers for the cause of the State's sovereignty.
Th Jadumani, Vice-president, BJP Manipur Pradesh; Manibabu Likmabam, Advisor, Khongjom War Memorial Trust; Yanglep Haokip, National member, BJP; Rameshwor Singh and others attended the programme.
