ACOAM-Lup celebrates foundation day

ACOAM-Lup, Kangleipak celebrated its 16th foundation day at Manipur Press Club today.
Lup president Ksh Somorendro, Lup medical advisor and Padma Medicare and Diagnostic Centre managing director Dr A Vivekananda, Kangla Mei president Y Leirik Leima, KIL president RK Sanahanbi, National awardee H Ibotombi Khuman and CLK president Ch Pakpi Chanu attended the function as presidium members.
Ksh Somorendro said that ACOAM-Lup has been working in the service of the society under its moto, 'dignified integrity'.
Saying that the Lup came into being 16 years back, he said that the organisation has been taking part in all the major issues of the State and it would continue in future as well.
Stating that public health has become a major concern in the State, Somorendro said that they would now start working on health related issues/matters now.

He also urged the public to extend support and co-operation to the Lup in this connection.
In his keynote address, Lup general secretary Telheiba Mangang said that ACOAM-Lup was established under the guidance of several social activists on July 2, 2001, a few weeks after the Great June uprising of June 18, 2001 wherein 18 people sacrificed their lives for the protection of the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The Lup has been taking active part in all the major issues happening in the State, he said.
Saying that ACOAM-Lup has been extending aid to destitute homes on its foundation day every year, Telheiba said that the Lup presented some simple gifts to Destitute Children Home, Deulahland yesterday.
The Lup has also been observing 'Puwarigi Amamba Numit', the day on which Puyas were burnt in 1732, he said.
