Following a court's directive, the State Govt has begun discussions to revive the corporations under the Agriculture Department which had earlier been abolished by the State Govt.Mention may be made here that some corporation under the Agriculture Department were abolished after signing an MoU with the Central Govt.The corporations which had been abolished by the Govt are Manipur Agro Industries Corporation, Tea Plantation Board and Manipur Plantation Crops Corporation.
All the above mentioned corporations had been set up under the Company Act.
Talking to mediapersons, Agriculture Minister Ph Parijat informed that the State Govt has already received a directive from the court asking the State Govt to revive the Corporations under the Agriculture Dept which had been abolish by the State Govt and added that the Govt is doing everything within its means to carry out the court's directives and revive the corporations.
Minister Parijat also informed that the efforts are on to distribute Pump sets, power tillers and tractors to the farmers by November and added that farmers given pump set by the Govt will be given Rs seven thousand as subsidy while those getting power tillers and tractors would be given Rs 30,000 each as subsidy.
