In a fresh twist to the kidnapping of a minor child, Mangkhuollien on 3 October for ransom and his subsequent release six days later, six social and philanthropic organizations of the district today issued a press handout identifying all the kidnappers and urged all community leaders to ex-communicate and expel them for their evil act forthwith.
It also thanked all those who strived for the safe release of the child, and God for the child�s eventual release without harm.
According to the release issued today, the six persons involved in the kidnapping of the child are - Khupmang Khongsai, (42) s/o Khupthang of Boljang village, Sadar Hills, presently residing at Khomoi village, Churachandpur; Lawia Hmar, 35, s/o Vawma of Tualbung village, Tipaimukh Subdivision, and presently living at Sielmat, CCpur; Md Tomba alias Tabarak, 35, of Phabakchao Imphal west district, presently living with his second wife Zabiek Hmar at Khomoi village, CCpur; Ginminthang alias Thangboi Zou, 22, s/o (L) Kamsuanpau of Buhsau, Singngat subdivision, presently residing at Zen-hang Lamka; Lenkhogin alias Gigin Haokip, 20, s/o Henkholam of Phailien, CCpur and Thangvel Simte, 25, s/o (L) Khamzalal Simte of Phailien, CCpur.
Khupmang Khongsai and Md Tomba are said to have absconded and could not be traced.
The release also recalled the appeal for release and ultimatum issued by the philanthropic organizations after the kidnapping and expressed gratitude to all for the safe release of the child, but said that just the release of the child unharmed cannot be the end of the affair as it is not the first time.
It asked all the tribe and community leaders to issue an order expelling those involved in the crime from their own communities in life and death and urged the government authorities to apprehend the culprit within this month.
It also strongly warned all those who give shelter and help to the kidnappers to refrain from their acts in the future and urged the people in general to unite so that such things do not recur in the future.
