Along with taking out a mass rally, a public meeting was held at the public ground of Senapati district headquarters today as part of the ongoing International Fortnight Observance Against Crime and Violence on Women and Children.

Besides a large number of womenfolk belonging to various communities like Kom, Kuki, Paomei, Maram, Nepali, Meetei, Zeliangrong etc, former MLA Henry Paotei was also present at the occasion organised by District Women Committee, Senapati of the United NGOs Mission, Manipur in association with Women Action for Development.
Addressing the public meeting, president of Naga Women's Union, Manipur Grace Shatshang observed that customary laws of the various tribal communities have been curtailing the rights of their womenfolk in the decision making process right from the family to the community level.
