Imphal, December 12 2008:
(Contd.from yesterday) .
THE BANNED Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) and the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) stated in their joint press release that after India annexed Manipur in 1949, all aspects in Manipur have declined.
The press release stated that the politico-socio and economic life in Manipur has become chaotic, the national identity is about to be eliminated completely and the national character has been stupefied.
Under the present rule, the communities which have been co-existing with love and harmony have been pushed into conflict with each other, it said.
The two parties further charged that various divisions of the Indian constitution such as 'scheduled tribe', 'scheduled caste' and 'OBC' have created divisions in 'our society'.
The migrants coming from outside are about to snatch away the national indentity.
The practice of corruption that comes along with the kind of rule has made the people numb and dull.
In this backdrop, the KYKL and the UNLF laid out the roles the 'revolutionary parties' must take in the press release.
In building national unity, the press release stated that in order to defeat the divide and rule policy adopted by India in the name of democracy, the fraternal revolutionary organisations, respecting each other, need to unitedly take a stand so that a sovereign and independent country could be formed.
In building nation, it stated that it was needed to preserve, promote and develope the good parts of the traditions of the society so as to newly build up the nation.
In protecting the national identity, the press release stated that it was needed to protect the identity of the communities and build a united social life against the influx of migrants and impact of Indianisation.
In building national character, the press release stated that the corrupt practice that comes along with the Indian politics needs to be rooted out and rebuild a dynamic and dignified national character.
The press release also declared five decisions taken unanimously at the level of Central Committees of the two parties.
That 1) KYKL-UNLF in association with the people would take part using all their might in efforts to thwart all activities, policies and programmes that are against the peaceful and harmonious co-existence of the communities of Manipur.
2) KYKL-UNLF will strive to put potent and dignity in the nation which has been having nice social life and fight all challenges and hindrances that come in the way.
3) All vehicles which bring migrants from outside into Manipur will be burnt down in order to stop the onslaught of the influence of the outsiders, and the drivers who drive those vehicles will be given severe punishment, and also actions will be taken to identify the outsiders and make them go back.
4) Attitudes will be built up to make the people live in freedom using their own strength and wisdom without having to depend on others.
5) The two parties have decide to impose restrictions on certain activities.
