Stolen Bolero Jeep found, driver nabbed

Imphal, July 21 2017:
The Jiribam police found one supposedly stolen black colour Bolero jeep bearing registration no MN 01S 2073 yesterday .
Speaking to media persons in a press meet today, SP of Jiribam district M Mubi Singh (MPS) said that on July 19 at around 3 pm, the police station received a reliable information that one Bolero jeep which was suspected to be stolen had proceeded towards Jiribam along NH-37 with an intent to cross Jiribam bridge on its way to Assam .
He stated that SDPO, Jiribam R K Charles was alerted and many police teams were deployed along the highway and one of the police team led by ASI A Krishna Sharma stopped the vehicle after following it for one and a half kilometer .
The driver who tried to flee was also apprehended.
The driver has been identified as one Nongthongbam Arun Singh, s/o N Nageshor Singh of Huikup Mayal Leikai, Mubi stated and on enquiry, the driver could not produce any relevant document .
On further verification, it was ascertained that the registration no MN 01S 2073 of the Bolero was fake and which is originally allotted to a Government officer, the SP mentioned.
He also said that a case was also registered regarding the matter.
