Awareness programme held

21 and 29 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) undertook a unique initiative towards creating awareness about the various Government schemes and citizen welfare-cum-empowerment programmes in the remote bordering belt of Manipur .
According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), the aim of this maiden endeavour was to educate, sensitize and empower the local populace in the far-flung areas of Sajik Tampak and Joupi in Chandel district, with the various initiatives undertaken by the Central and State Government towards better governance .
Brochures containing details of various schemes and flagship programmes including PMJDY, PMJBY, Ujjwala Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi, Atal Pension Yojna, MNREGA, PMSBY and PMGSY etc were distributed to the villagers of Aibol Joupi, Joupi, Nakong, Chenkopi, TM Dingpi, Chalyang, Hengshi, Tolbung, Tuiyang, Hollengjang and Henkot on July 13, 14 and 20 .
Also, Manipur Government welfare schemes like Swayamsidha project, STEP, Swadhar and schemes for disabled persons were also elaborately explained.
The forms for opening of "Jan Dhan accounts" were also distributed to the villagers.
