Imphal, April 17 2011:
The United Naga People's Council (UNPC) has pointed its finger to the NSCN-IM for the bloody ambush on Phungyar AC MLA Wungnaoshang Keishing and escort party at Riha village under Litan police station in Ukhrul district on April 14 .
In a press release issued by its public relations officer Barimi, the UNPC has decried the attack, saying that one and all should condemn it.
It categorically stated that the attack was the handiwork of NSCN-IM which was once waging a war of liberation but now fallen into the trap laid by the Government of India.
Alleging that the Government of India and its agents have been continuously plotting to project the revolutionary movement in the wrong light, the UNPC asserted that the NSCN-IM has been threatening lives and properties of the Manipuri people every now and then.
To tackle such malicious design of the NSCN-IM, people of both the hills and valley need to stand firm and collectively under an understanding.
The Government of India and their followers are also fully aware of this fact.
That is why, the Government of India has been always scheming to drive wedges and create divisions and conflicts among different communities of Manipur.
These days, NSCN-IM has been functioning as a 'colonial missionary' under the alien rule of the Government of India.
Such activities of NSCN-IM have been posing serious obstacles in determining the future of the Manipuri nation.
"For all these reasons, we must be united.
We need to struggle collectively with a clear understanding that Manipuri people can live a dignified life only after Manipur regain its sovereignty", the outfit added.
It also cautioned all the people to be wary of those donning the mask of revolutionary movement.
