Imphal, February 09 2013 :
The United Naga Council (UNC) has reportedly received an official intimation from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for the fifth round of tripartite talk regarding their demand for alternative arrangement outside the Government of Manipur, pending a final settlement to the Indo-Naga peace talk.
One UNC leader told TSE that they received an official intimation from MHA Joint Director NE (II) Dr NC Mahanathan on February 5 .
It has been already scheduled that the fifth round of tripartite talk involving the Government of India, Government of Manipur and UNC would be held at Senapati DC office on February 12 starting from 11 am.
The Government of India's delegation at the fifth round of talk would be led by MHA Special Secretary (Internal Security) CS Jayaraman, informed the UNC leader as stated in the official intimation from the MHA.
The UNC delegation would be led by its president while the team representing the Government of Manipur would be headed by the Chief Secretary.
Taking due note of the observation made by representatives of the Government of India during the third round of the tripartite talk that the demand for alternative arrangement was vague, the UNC presented a detail and clear picture of the demand during the fourth round of talk.
As the details of the demand of the demand have been already highlighted to the Government of India, UNC would insist on translating the demand for alternative arrangement into action during the scheduled fifth round of tripartite talk at Senapati, conveyed the UNC leader.
In case, the Government of India and the Government of Manipur raise irrelevant questions/issues to the UNC's demand, anything not related to the demand would be discussed.
To a query about their possible next course of action in case the Senapati dialogue fails to yield any positive out-come, the UNC leader maintained that it would be premature as of now to comment on such a situation.
