Imphal, October 26 2016:
Refusing to divulge what precisely is that "threat of the Manipur Government" the United Naga Council (UNC) has been talking about, the Naga body held yet another round of meeting for the second consecutive day today on the matter, this time with the Chandel Naga Peoples' Organisation (CNPO) at Chandel district headquarters.
Yesterday, it was with the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) at Ukhrul.
The United Naga Council would limit its explanation only by saying that the "very existence of the Naga people" is under great threat from the Manipur Government.
The UNC hinted that there is "very high chance of Manipur Government making a declaration on something" which the Naga people should be "all ready to thwart" .
UNC president Gaidon Kamei said any moment the Naga people will make a "final call and we should be prepared for the needed response to it" .
The UNC president also said that the Naga people will not challenge any ethnic group, authority or community but "that does not mean that the Naga people will remain mute on challenges thrown at us" .
The UNC is likely to continue this campaign in the districts of Tamenglong, Senapati and elsewhere in the days to come.
