Lamenting at the non inclusion of any of the MLAs from Chandel district into the newly pruned SPF Ministry, representatives of various Chandel based Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have demanded that Chief Minister O Ibobi should to be personally responsible for bringing about development in the district.
Interacting with media-persons at a press conference at Pallel yesterday, representatives of various NGOs while highlighting the various problems being faced by the public with regard to lack of school teachers, electricity, health care, communication and transport system, etc in the district said that the Government's indifferent attitude towards the problems of the people will increase the feeling of alienation among the people.
Referring to the deplorable condition of the road stretch between Pallel and Chandel, they also appealed to the State Government to repair the road immediately and help redress the woes of the people.
Moyon Students Union general secretary Bion while lamenting at the indifferent attitude of the State Government towards the people of Chandel district also warned of launching a series of agitations if the State Government does not change its attitude and take up developmental works in the interest of the people.
Moyon Students Union president Raphael Chara who also spoke at the press conference strongly condemned the Government's appointment of 48 Auxiliary Nurse & Midwifery (ANM) ST post to the general categories without any prior information.
