For taking up necessary measures after the North East-India Investment Opportunities Week organised by the Ministry of DoNER at Bangkok last month, the Ministry has sought information from the State Government on areas in which it had signed agreements with private entrepreneurs during the week.
On the other hand, a joint delegation of officials of External Affairs of Thailand and businessmen is expected to arrive at Manipur next month to discuss the possible areas in Manipur where investment can be made as a follow up action of the Investment Opportunities Week.
However, an official confirmation in this regard has not been received.
According to an official source, the DoNER Ministry has sought the detailed information of the agreements that the State Government had signed with private entrepreneurs during the Investment Opportunities Week so as to convert them into action.
Taking note of the missive of DoNER Ministry, the State Government has started collecting all the required reports.
It may be recalled that in its presentation during the Week, the State Government had given special thrust on sectors like tourism, rural road connectivity and power.
Meanwhile, another official source informed that the meeting of the National Development Council would be held at New Delhi with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in the chair on December 9.The agenda of the meeting will be decided by the Union Cabinet.
