Senapati District Students Association and Senapati Employed Union, which was at loggerheads with the bank authority of State Bank of India, Senapati Branch over the issuance of lesser loan application forms to the customers have finally resolved their differences and is now helping the bank authority to solve the problems of form shortage to redress the grievances of the public.
Both the organisation in separate memorandum have apprised the Assistant General Manager of the State Bank of India, Shillong to extend the proceduaral and acceptance time of the Express Housing Loan plus demanding more forms for the same stating that Senapati district was badly affected by the natural calamities which occured during the monsoon season.
They also stated that Senapati district was the worst hit district in the entire North-East states.
It is stated that an estimated 70 to 80 persons have availed the same loan but many deserving persons are yet to avail the loan.
It may be mentioned here that the State Goverment have recently released an amount of Rs 9,17,040 to the calamity affected people in the district in the 1st phase but many beneficiaries expressed unhappiness over it as the amount was too mean i.e a household gets about Rs 400 or so.
ZU get together: The annual get-together of the Zeliangrong Union, Senapati Zone was held yesterday at the Mini Stadium here.
More than thousand people came to partake in the celebration with former Deputy Commissioner T Pamei as the chief guest of the function.
