Even as the Naga NGOs are preparing in Dimapur to lay out the red carpet for the home-coming Naga underground leaders, Th Muivah and Isak Chisi Swu when they touch down at the Dimapur airport, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio along with Nagaland representative of Lok Sabha Wanguh Konyak have rushed to New Delhi to "see" the NSCN-IM collective leadership.
Talking to media persons before his departure at the Dimapur airport this morning, Neiphiu Rio said that the plans of the NSCN-IM leadership to consult and seek the opinion of the Nagas when they come to Nagaland was a welcome step and is appreciated.
Rio said that before arriving at any final settlement of the Naga issue, the NSCN-IM collective leadership will consult and seek the opinions and views of the Naga society.
But the Chief Minister did not divulge anything beyond this statement.
However, Rio's comment hinted that the talks betwen the GOI and the NSCN-IM were progressing well.
"The NSCN (IM)-GOI peace dialogue is improving fast and now before any settlement, the collective leadership would consult the Nagas," he said.
Rio also appreciated that "the doubts which had cropped up between the NSCN-IM and the GOI have been cleared" and added that the Naga society should give full support to the ongoing peace talks between the NSCN-IM and the GOI.
The Chief Minister said that the Nagaland Government welcomes the home coining of NSCN-IM leaders fh Muivah and Isak Chisi Swu.
Neiphiu Rio also said that he appreciates the recent comments of the Congress party leader North-East in-charge Ramesh Channithala on the ongoing peace talk.
