Imphal, March 22 2013:
At least two personnel of 15 Assam Rifles have been killed in a bomb attack carried out by a Special Warfare Group of the PLA near Yairipok Malom village under Thoubal district at about 10.30 am today.
A press release issued by the RPF's Department of Publicity Chief Bangkim identified the deceased personnel as Havildar Mahender and Sepoy Pratap Tawang.
The bomb attack was carried out after informing Manipur Police indirectly about presence of explosives between two hills of Yairipok Malom.
On learning that PLA have planted explosives, the adversary forces, particularly the Indian military cordoned off the suspected area and sent in local womenfolk in their attempt to use the civilians as their human shield.
But their (Indian military) design was rejected by the local people, it alleged.
Stating that the PLA cadres have been fighting relentlessly against the Indian military with the ultimate objective of establishing a free, progressive and egalitarian nation, the outfit asserted that more and more people have joined the freedom struggle even as many people have sacrificed their lives and suffered atrocities in the hands of adversary forces.
It is because of people's faith, love and help that the PLA can attack the Indian military any time when it wishes.
Acknowledging people's support in the PLA's war of liberation, the outfit further appealed for continued support for the same cause.
