CCpur, May 15 2020:
With hundreds of people returning to their home State following the Nationwide lockdown by both road and rail, Churachandpur is witnessing a unique experience of its own where precautionary measures have been given a toss.
In a brazen incident at Saipum, of the four people who had returned from Chennai, one of them was found giving a haircut to another at a quarantine centre opened at a school.
Reporters who had gone to the school to get a report on the quarantine centre were visibly shaken up.
On the other hand, at least three people from a village have been advised to quarantine as they reportedly boarded the bus that was taking returnees to a quarantine centre at Singngat sub-divisional headquarters.
On Thursday when a bus carrying 42 returnee for a community quarantine centre at St Joseph School, Singngat halted at a checkpost at Muallum village, a 63 year old villager reportedly boarded the vehicle against the advice of the occupants.
As the driver made the mandatory entry at the checkpost and took the bus to the quarantine centre, the officials on duty there were shocked to see that there were three passengers more than the list they had been provided.
While the old man from Muallum boarded the bus as it was their usual practice to reach the sub-divisional hqtrs, two more people appeared to have discreetly climbed to the bus roof to take a free ride.
Officials immediately detained the old man for the 14 days quarantine along with the others at the centre, while the two others who were on the bus roof have been told to quarantine themselves at home for 14 days, sources said.
