Senapati, May 15 2020:
In what could be termed as a denominational crisis within the village, a prayer and healing centre at Kapao village, Senapati district was destroyed by the locals on May 12 last.
Established in 2016, the Kapao Prayer Centre, Calvary Hospital run by Christian Revival Church at the village was destroyed by the villagers over non-adherence to village rule, not to bring in any other denomination other than Baptist and Catholic in the village.
Moreover, villagers reportedly felt that the centre did not obey the rules laid down by the villagers, especially during this Nationwide lockdown.
It is estimated that properties worth over Rs 20 lakh were destroyed.
Mention may be made that, people from different parts of the State were treated in the centre in the past.
However, the villagers on the other side considered that the centre does not pay heed to their warning to leave the centre before May 5 last.
The villagers had also reportedly destroyed power connections and water pipe to the quarters and prayer centre worth
Rs 1 lakh on March 17 .
