Jessami road option

Imphal, August 08 2011:
Oil tankers and LPG bullets stranded at different places outside the State along NH 39 due to the ongoing general strike would take the Kohima-Jessami road to reach Imphal on experimental basis.
The State DGP and officials of IOC Divisional Sales Office, Imphal minutely discussed the problem of stranded oil tankers and LPG bullets and their inability to reach Imphal due to the ongoing general strike.
The meeting held this afternoon decided to experiment Kohima-Jessami-Imphal road for ferrying LPG and fuel.
Oil tankers and LPG bullets currently stranded outside the State would be escorted by CRPF from Jessami till Ukhrul on August 10 .
From Ukhrul to Imphal, the vehicles would be escorted by State security forces.
In case the experiment proves viable, LPG and fuel oils would be transported on Kohima-Jessami-Ukhrul route.
However, empty oil tankers and LPG bullets would take Imphal-Jiirbam highway.
Meanwhile, it is reported that four goods laden trucks have reached Jessami from Kohima this morning.
Five other goods laden trucks reached Jessami in the afternoon.
