Imphal, August 08 2011:
Just as in the previous case, the second round of talk between the Government and the Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) held today could not find any solution to the deadlock.
It is reported that members of Sadar Hills ADC will hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss the unfolding scenario on the demand to upgrade Sadar Hills to a district.
Four representatives of SHDDC held a meeting with Chief Minister O Ibobi for two hours from 1 pm to 3 pm today.
The meeting was also attended by Sadar Hills MLAs, Thangminlen Kipgen and Haokholet Kipgen.
Ex-MP Paokai Haokip who was among the SHDDC delegation to the meeting said that the Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues and points raised by them.
The Chief Minister also commented that the demand for upgrading Sadar Hills to the status of a full fledged district was justified.

Maintaining that the demand, though justified, cannot be handed out arbitrarily, the Chief Minister invited SHDDC for further talks.
Stating that the dialogue has already begun, Ibobi appealed to the SHDDC representatives to call off the ongoing agitation.
To this, the representatives replied that they would not call off the agitation until and unless the Government makes its stand known to the public clearly.
They also urged the Chief Minister to fulfil the demand by August 15, conveyed Paokai Haokip.
On other hand, with regard to the notice served by SHDDC to Members of Sadar Hills ADC to resign from the posts, members of the ADC will meet tomorrow at Hotel Imphal at 11 am.
MLAs of Saikul, Saitu and Kangpokpi ACs will attend.
