Ukhrul records maximum hypersensitive polling stations

Ukhrul, March 04 2017:
Ukhrul holds the record of maximum hypersensitive polling stations among all districts which would go to poll on March 8, according to an official source.
Micro observers would be deployed in most of the repolling-prone polling stations of the AC.
Altogether 14 candidates from Phungyar, Chingai and Ukhrul would be contesting for the three Assembly seats.
Out of 201 polling stations, majority of the polling stations in Ukhrul and Kamjong were listed as hypersensitive polling stations.
According to reports from District Election Office, Ukhrul, trained polling personnel were all set and ready for the second phase poll.
Any shortage of polling personnel would be compensated from Imphal East district.
Over 300 EVM machines have been stocked in the District Election Office.
57 companies of additional forces besides the State and paramilitary forces of the district would be deployed so as to ensure free and fair election.
According to the reports from the DEO office, repolling has been scheduled on March 10, in case there is any need for repoll, since the counting date has been fixed on March 11 .
