UPF negates KNO's charges

The United People's Front (UPF) today negated the KNO allegation that it has floated TPOM in connivance with the NSCN-IM even as it also maintained that the UPF was not consulted when the TPOM was formed.
The UPF is not a party to the new organization called Tribal People's Organisation of Manipur.
The allegation made by the KNO that TPOM was floated by the UPF in connivance with NSCN-IM is therefore factually incorrect, concocted and baseless, said the UPF in a statement.
The statement reiterated that UPF is an issued-based political alliance sans nomenclature.
It insisted that the UPF has never adopted an exclusivist political demand for a separate Kukiland or Nagalim since its inception.
It added that that the UPF stands for the rights and political aspirations of the tribal in Manipur.
The political demand of UPF under Article 244A of the Indian Constitution that is, Autonomous Hill State or State within State, encompasses the entire tribal people or even the non-tribal who have resided in the hill areas' .
