KSO demands judicial enquiry to Sehlon incident

The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Chandel district has demanded the Chief Minister to institute a special judicial inquiry into the alleged brutal assault of Sehlon villagers by 36 AR personnel on February 14. In a memorandum to the Chief Minister, the KSO, Chandel district demanded the immediate suspension and detention of the AR's CO, Amin Ramakant Sharma and the quarter master Pratap Singh.
Further, the KSO urged the Chief Minister to shift all army and AR camps along the Dingpi ridge at a distance of atleast 2/3 kilometres from the villages.
The memorandum also demanded the transfer or replacement of 36 AR from the Dingpi Ridge.
The KSO pointed out that around 27 civilians, including 17 women of Sehlon village were brutally assaulted by the AR.
Besides, the cloth of two women were tore by the AR men and two other women had bore the butt of the AR's gun.
The AR personnel were also accused of thrashing two pregnant women after cornering them to an isolated place.
These apart, two elderly chiefs - the Chiefs of Sehlon village and Phoilen village, were also mercilessly assaulted by the AR without any consideration of their age and stature, the KSO memo said.
