To discuss the plan proposal of the State for the next fiscal year, a joint meeting of the Commissioners, Secretaries and Heads of various Departments was held today with Chief Secretary Rakesh in the chair.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed all concerned which have not yet submitted their respective plan proposals to the Planning Department to do so within November 19 and directed other departments who have submitted their plan proposals to check it once again.
It is said that in all 25 Departments have so far submitted their plan proposals for the next fiscal year to the Planning Department.
According to sources, it is expected that amount of the fund under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) to be provided by the Planning Commission to the State in the next fiscal year is likely to be fixed at Rs 600 crores after hiking the fund by Rs 50 crores from the last fiscal.
On the other hand, in connection with utilisation of the fund granted under SPA in the fiscal year 200708, Chief Secretary would be presiding over a review meeting tomorrow.
It is said that rate of utilisation of the SPA fund for the current fiscal year is yet to pick up speed.
It may be noted here that the State Government has already been directed to submit the plan proposal for the next fiscal year by an increase of 10 percent from the current fiscal year.
