Imphal, March 10 2013 :
After the newly elected functionaries of North East Students' Organisation (NESO) have been sworn in at Guwahati, NESO has resolved to stage protest demonstrations in front of the Raj Bhavans of all the North Eastern States on March 25.Speaking to media persons at AMSU headquarters today, newly elected NESO secretary general Sinam Prakash said that the newly elected functionaries were administered oath of office and secrecy by former advisor Artax Shimrary on March 8 .
The new batch of office bearers were elected during the NESO general conference held at Kohima on November 29 and 30 last year.
After the new office bearers were sworn in, an executive meeting was held where common issues of the North East were deliberated at length.
It also discussed about the charter of demands already submitted to the Prime Minister of India.
After a threadbare discussion, the executive meeting adopted six resolutions in the form of demands.
To press for these demands, sit-in-protest would be staged in front of all Raj Bhavans of the Northeastern States from 11 am to 1 pm of March 25, Sinam Prakash said.
In April, a team of NESO delegates would go to Delhi and call on the Prime Minister and other Central leaders, Prakash added.
