Imphal, January 10 2012:
Even as Trinamool Congress has finalised its list of candidates and issued party tickets today, the party's flag was burnt by some disgruntled supporters over the party's alleged mismanagement in allotment of tickets.
Talking to The Sangai Express, Trinamool Congress spokesman Th Inaocha informed that the party would field candidates in 47 Assembly Constituencies.
Explaining the inability of the party to issue tickets in time, Inaocha said that many Assembly segments were 'problematic' and the party was awaiting resolution of the problems by the high command.
Moreover, the party's high command could not send their observer in time.
As more than one person applied for the party's ticket in many Assembly segments, it was really difficult to decide who should be given the party's ticket, Inaocha said.
The meeting held with the observer for finalising the list of candidates was disrupted by supporters of the party as they were kept in a precarious situation, unsure of whether or not they would get party tickets with time running out to apply to other parties.

Though it is a little late, the final list has been announced after holding a meeting with the observer at Imphal and there was no question of discrimination, favouritism or corruption in the process of ticket allotment, Inaocha clarified.
Contending that deserving candidates have not been given party tickets on account of favouritism and corruption on the part of party leaders, disenchanted and anguished supporters of Trinamool Congress burnt the party's flag in front of its office at Keishampat today.
K Mangi, an aspiring candidate in Thongju AC was in the list of 18 probable TC candidates which was submitted by Manipur State Trinamool Congress president Kim Gangte to the party's General Secretary Mukul Roy on January 2 .
The list of 18 candidates was approved by the party's high command and the State unit was duly instructed to issue party tickets to all of them.
However, K Mangi has not been given party ticket and his supporters fearing that Mangi would not be given party ticket came to Hotel Excellency where the office of Trinamool Congress and they burnt the party's flag.
One supporter of K Mangi said that modification of the list already approved by the party's high command was a blatant act of favouritism and corruption.
On the other hand, Trinamool Congress is unable to announce the names of the remaining party candidates who would contest in the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections.
