To denounce the cancellation/annulment of the 2001 census report regarding MaoMaram, Paomata and Purul population figures, the Naga Peoples' Organisation will observe Black Day in these sub-divisions on December 9.In connection with the protest, the Naga body has also imposed a total bandh throughout the State on December 9, said a release of the NPO.
The NPO has also urged the people to hoist black flags on every house in the sub-divisions.
the NPO, backed by Maram Union, Mao Hoho, Zeliangrong union and Thangal union also served an ultimatum to the Chief Minister to honour its demand within December 17 failing which the agitation would be enforced without any leniency.
The Organisation's demand include revocation of the Cabinet decision of September 18, 2003 for scrapping the Census report and maintain status quo of the 2001 (provisional) Census figure in respect of the sub-divisions.
